SET DESIGN
Set Design: A tree platform where the actors will stand on. 4 stairs platform for the actors to step up. Minimal tree set so that the audience can see the actors standing from different angles. Artificial grass patch below the tree set and steps so that the set does not look so bare and plain. The tree platform will be made from wood with a rough texture to look like the flaking wood of an old tree. There will be green moss growing at the bottom of the tree platform and steps.
Props: Tree actors will be holding tree branches as hand props as they move/dance around. Puppets will be hung from the catwalk in a row.

Black Card Model: Scale is 1:50. The platform and steps platform will be placed in the centre of the blackbox.
Projection of the gobos is to narrate the story or used as a backdrop. The texture of the gobo patterns will enhance the harsh environment the girl and tree are in when trouble/danger approaches. (E.g bulldozers). Yellow, orange colours to create a warm tone. This can also represent the warm feeling of the relationship between the girl and the tree. The different coloured lighting will also represent different moods of the play or the time of the day. Cool tones will

Tree platform: The texture of the tree will be very rough and certain parts of the tree flaking/peeling off to represent how old it is. The shape of the platform is big enough for the actors to stand on at the corners.
Hand prop branches: The tree branches hand props are made of sticks with long, jagged and sharp branches which represent the long lifespan of the tree and how long the branches grew over the years. The jagged lines of the branch that bends in different ways also highlight the ‘funny’/strange aspect of the old tree. The moss growing at the bottom of the tree also serves as a reminder of how old/long the tree has been there.
COSTUME DESIGN
Tree actor: Brown Long sleeve to camouflage as a tree with torn edges pattern to represent an old flaking tree made from polyester. Loose black linen for the pants. Overall, the actor needs to move around in the play so they need comfortable and convenient costumes to move in.

Girl: Typical school uniform with a straight cutting white polyester blouse and a black pleated skirt from the 1980s. A school badge will be pinned above her blouse breast pocket. Pigtail hairstyle with cute hair tie and glasses to express her inquisitiveness and curious personality.

The People: Dressed in a white polo shirt with a safety vest from mesh and reflective material. Straight cut bleached denim jeans paired with construction boots. Overall, attire looks neat and matches the occupation of a construction worker. Colour contrast between the costume and the personality of The People.
